Witness appeal after man arrested following public order incident in Gosport
Police are appealing for witnesses following a public order incident in Gosport during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Officers were called to Gosport High Street at around 12.30am on Sunday 28 June after receiving reports of a man allegedly threatening members of the public and behaving erratically.
Police attended the scene and arrested a 38-year-old man from Gosport on suspicion of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He has since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
As part of the investigation, officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who was approached by the man.
Anyone with information, or anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 44260305612.
