Three More Men Arrested in Connection with Fatal Cowes House Fire
Three additional men have been arrested as part of the investigation into a fatal house fire in Cowes that claimed the life of a man in his 20s.
Emergency services were called to an address on Ronsons Close at 3.32am on Friday 26 June. Firefighters, police officers and ambulance crews attended the scene, where the man was sadly pronounced dead.
While formal identification has not yet taken place, his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
As the investigation continues, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that two 24-year-old men and a 59-year-old man, all from Cowes, were arrested on the evening of Saturday 27 June on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life. All three remain in police custody.
A 28-year-old man from Ventnor, who was arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder, arson with intent to endanger life and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, has since been released on conditional bail until 27 September while further enquiries are carried out.
Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with relevant doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the fire.

Residents can expect an increased police presence in the area over the coming days while enquiries continue. Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to officers on patrol.
