Fire crews were called shortly after half 11 this morning to a bungalow on Hobb Lane where smoke was seen issuing from the roof
Appliances from Hightown, Botley, St Mary’s and Eastleigh, along with the aerial ladder platform were quickly on the scene.
The gas and electric supply to the property was quickly isolated by fire crews who began extinguishing the blaze.
Firefighters from HIWFRS used five high pressure jets hoses, two hose reels, 10 breathing apparatus and ventilation fans to clear smoke.
The crews remained on the scene to dampen down hotspots, deliver community safety leaflets and conduct Safe & Well visits at neighbouring houses.
Firefighters resumed normal service following the stop message at 1:31pm.
