Appeal Following Serious Collision Near Winchester Leaves Motorcyclist With Life-Changing Injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious road traffic collision near Winchester which has left a motorcyclist with life-changing injuries.

The incident occurred between 4pm and 4.15pm on Sunday, 7 June, on the A272 Petersfield Road between Winchester and Cheriton, close to Cheesefoot Head.

The collision involved a red and blue Honda CBR600 motorcycle and a silver Volvo XC40.

Emergency services attended the scene, where the rider of the motorcycle, a 44-year-old man, was seriously injured. He has since been confirmed to have suffered life-changing injuries.

Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are now carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Investigators are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw either vehicle travelling on the A272 before the collision occurred, as well as motorists who may have captured relevant footage on dashcams.

A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

“We would like to speak to anyone who saw these vehicles prior to the collision, as well as any witnesses to the collision itself and anyone with relevant dashcam footage.”
