Do you recognise this man?
Officers are looking to speak with him in connection with an attempted robbery in Petersfield earlier in the month.
The incident happened on Swan Street at around 1pm on 1 October.
The victim, an 84-year-old man, had been in Waitrose when he noticed a man acting suspiciously and believed him to be following him.
When he went back to the car park he was approached by an unknown woman who asked him for the road name and gave him pen and paper to write it on.
When the victim returned the paper, the woman attempted to steal his watch from his wrist. He was able to push her away, but sustained bruising to his hand.
At the time of the incident, the man who had been seen in Waitrose was nearby.
The man is described as being between 30 and 40-years-old, possible Eastern European, with an average build and black hair. He is also described as having a full moustache and a small tattoo on his left hand.
Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you remember seeing someone matching this description?
Anyone with information, or who is able to identify the man in the image, is asked to phone 101 with reference 44210394498. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111
