Officers are currently in attendance at Christchurch Park in Ipswich following reports of a suspicious package found by a member of the public this afternoon (Sun 10 April)

Police received a call at about 4.10pm with a report that the package was found on a bench in the park.

In the interests of safety police have closed the park, including Christchurch Mansion, with members of the public requested to leave.

Police thank the public for their understanding and co-operation whilst enquiries continue.
