A family are asking for support to bring home their son after falling ill on a family holiday and being stranded in Barbados
The family were on holiday in Barbados when 8 year old Ace become very poorly which they first thought was due to the hot weather, then a blood rash appeared on their son and they rushed him straight to Accident and Emergency. A number of tests were then conducted on Ace, doctors soon discovered that his red cells and white cells were extremely low and carried out further tests.
After the results came back doctors then broke the extremely sad heart-breaking news that Ace had acute myeloid Leukemia which is one of the hardest forms to treat , doctors then completed further bone marrow tests which were sent to Canada.
Since the diagnosis Ace has become extremely ill after suffering a seizure on Sunday changed the plans that had been made to get Ace home to start treatment ASAP, the family have since found that he has developed stem cell death of the brain and are asking people to donate towards flying him home.
Doctors from Barbados and the UK have advised the safest way to get Ace home is by Air Ambulance but due to the distance and costs involved it is expected that the all round costs to be around £150,000 who have now setup a go-fund me page to help raise the monies needed to bring Ace home.
If you could donate and share the page it would be greatly appreciated which can be done using the secure link below.
