Fire crews from Southsea and Cosham were alerted at 8:24 this morning to an alarm sounding, with something believed to be smoking on the stove at a property in Seymour Close.
It was initially reported that an occupant was possibly still inside the house, but upon arrival of HIWFRS, all persons were accounted for.
The small fire in the communal kitchen was caused by an unattended pan, which was removed from the heat source by firefighters.
Crews used ventilation fans to clear smoke from the address, before delivering community safety resources to residents.
Firefighters returned to station at 8:50.
