Firefighters dealing with large barn blaze Isle of Wight

Crews from the Isle of Wight are currently on the scene of a barn fire on Ashey Road near Ryde.

Appliances from Newport, Cowes, East Cowes, Ryde, Sandown, Ventnor and Freshwater are currently in attendance at the fire.

Road closures are in place to allow crews access to tackle the blaze.

Please avoid the area to allow access for emergency services vehicles.

Fortunately, there are no casualties involved.

A further unit from Portchester has been brought across to the island on standby duties whilst firefighters tackle the large blaze.
