Flames were reported to have been seen coming from a first-floor window at a property on Grange Road at around 7pm last night.
Crews from Horndean, Bordon, Waterlooville and Petersfield responded, arriving in time to assist an elderly casualty from the first-floor.
After initial treatment from firefighters, the lady was handed into care of South Central Ambulance Service, who assessed the casualty for smoke inhalation.
Buckets of water were used by HIWFRS to extinguish the blaze which had begun in the fireplace.
Ventilation fans were also used to clear smoke from the flat before crews returned to station at 19:43.
