Flat Fire Tackled At Southampton High-Rise

Firefighters were called to a flat fire at Centenary Quay in Southampton this evening after a kitchen fire broke out on the sixth floor of a high-rise building.

Crews were called at around 7pm, with firefighters from Eastleigh, Fareham, Hightown, Redbridge, St Mary’s and Totton attending the scene.

The fire, which is believed to have been electrical, led to residents being evacuated from a number of floors as a precaution.

Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and extinguished it before a full evacuation of the building was required.
The stop message was issued at 9pm.
