Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called shortly after 11.00 pm to reports of a fire which had broken out in a 4 bedroom detached house located in High Street, Emsworth.

On arrival firefighters discovered that the room of the first floor was well alight, appliances from Havant, Waterlooville and an incident command unit from Eastleigh was also in attendance.
Firefighters quickly tackled the fire and extinguished it using breathing apparatus, hose reels and high-pressure jet hoses.
A number of fire crews currently remain at the property and are monitoring for hotspots and will remain at the property for some time.
Fire officers are in attendance who will be carrying out a full investigation into the cause of the fire.
