Firefighters called to tackle house fire in Eastleigh
More than 30 firefighters were called to a house fire in Eastleigh shortly before 6pm yesterday evening.
Crews from Eastleigh, St Mary’s and Redbridge were alerted to the end of terrace property fire on Barton Road at 5.51pm.

The aerial ladder was used to help tackle the blaze which involved the whole property and resulted in Barton Road and Chickenhall Lane being closed.

The power supply was isolated as crews used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire.
The incident was scaled down before the stop message came in at 10.24pm
One crew returned throughout the night to conduct reinspections, checking for remaining hot spots.
Fire Investigation Officers will attend the scene in the morning to ascertain the cause of the fire.
