Police are trying to identify a woman as part of an investigation into a racially aggravated assault in Winchester
The incident took place between 9.45am and 10.15am on Tuesday 17 May, and started on the No 4 Stagecoach bus which was heading from Milland Road to St George’s Street.
A 48-year-old female passenger was approached on the bus by a woman she did not know. The woman shouted at the victim and assaulted her.
The victim then left the bus and was further assaulted by the woman in High Street, near Middle Brook Street. The victim sustained a minor injury to her nose and did not need hospital treatment.
Police have now released an image of a woman they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries into this incident.
Officers know the image only shows the back of the woman, but perhaps you recognise the clothing or bag she is wearing.
Police would also like to hear from anyone who was on the No 4 bus at around this time, or anyone who witnessed any part of this incident.
