Police Release Update After Pompey Centre Brawl Leaves Man Injured
Police have provided an update following a violent fight at Portsmouth’s Pompey Centre retail park that hospitalised a man.
The incident unfolded on Saturday, May 2, 2026, when a brawl broke out near the KFC outlet.
A man in his 50s from Eastleigh suffered actual bodily harm (ABH)-level injuries, including a serious head wound. Emergency services rushed to the scene, where paramedics treated the victim before transferring him to hospital for further assessment and care.
Two Men Arrested on Serious Charges
Hampshire Police arrested two suspects in connection with the assault. A 38-year-old man from Southsea faces charges of attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
A 50-year-old man from Portsmouth was detained on suspicion of attempted GBH with intent, assault by beating an emergency worker, and common assault.
Both individuals have been released on bail until August 2, 2026, while investigations continue.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.
