Property Destroyed In Large Fire On Pine Road In Bishop’s Waltham
A property has been completely destroyed following a large fire in Bishop’s Waltham this evening.
Fire crews were called to Pine Road at around 6.10pm after reports of a serious property fire.
Around 30 firefighters attended the scene, with crews from Bishop’s Waltham, Droxford, Wickham, Hightown, Fareham and Beaulieu all involved in tackling the blaze. An Incident Command Unit was also deployed due to the scale of the incident.
Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the fire under control, with members of the public urged to avoid the area due to the number of emergency service vehicles on scene.
By 9.15pm, the fire had been extinguished, although crews remained at the scene monitoring hot spots.
Sadly, the property was confirmed to have been 100% destroyed by the blaze. A neighbouring property was also affected by light smoke logging.
One casualty was taken to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service.
The incident was later scaled down, with firefighters carrying out community safety work in the surrounding area.
At 9.30pm, a stop message was received. Site security has now been handed over to police and the local council.
Crews are expected to return throughout the night to carry out re-inspections. :::
