Shed Destroyed After Fire Spreads to Neighbouring Property in Stamshaw

Firefighters were called to a residential street in Portsmouth on Saturday evening after a shed fire spread to a neighbouring property, setting fire to a fence and part of a tree.

Crews from Cosham Fire Station were called shortly before 7.30pm to reports of a fire at a property on Strode Road, Stamshaw.

Two fire appliances attended the incident, where firefighters used a small hose reel to tackle the flames and bring the fire under control.

The shed was destroyed in the blaze, with flames also spreading beyond the original property boundary and causing damage to a neighbouring fence and part of a tree.

A neighbour affected by the fire said the flames had reached his property, setting alight to his fence and part of his tree before crews were able to extinguish it.

Firefighters remained at the scene while the area was made safe and checks were carried out to ensure the fire had not spread further.

The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed and is currently being investigated. No injuries have been reported.
