Police have this morning (Monday 7 Feb) executed a warrant at an address in Warren Crescent following an investigation into motorcycle thefts
Officers carrying out the search of the address found a stolen black Aprilia motorcycle and a number of weapons, including hatchets, crowbars, hammers and knives.
No one has been arrested today but our enquiries are ongoing.
Inspector Sarah Nicholson said “Tackling motorcycle theft in Southampton is a priority for us, which is why we plan these warrants and use intelligence from communities to take action. It is really important that people continue to report any incidents and intelligence in relation to motorcycle theft to us, so that we can plan our patrols and response.
“Our response to motorcycle theft might not always seem immediate, but we use information reported to us to help us build a picture of what is going on and where and ultimately enable us to target offenders and addresses so that we get results.
“We know that combatting motorbike theft is priority for you, and it’s a priority for us. We continue to work with partners in order to address all the issues link to motorcycle crime.”
