🚨 Man Arrested Following Reports Of Suspicious Behaviour Towards Women In Southampton
Police are appealing for information after a number of incidents involving women in Southampton city centre during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Officers are investigating reports that between 3am and 5am on 20 June, a man approached several women in Above Bar Street and was seen behaving suspiciously or inappropriately.
The man was described as being black, around 6ft tall, of medium build, and wearing a beige jumper with large lettering and black jeans.
As part of their enquiries, police have arrested a 37-year-old man from London on suspicion of sexual assault, a Section 4B (sex-based) Public Order offence, and possession of cannabis.
He remains in police custody while investigations continue.
Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who had any interaction with the man, witnessed his behaviour, or has any information that could assist the investigation.
