Man Still In Custody After Suspicious Death Of Woman In North End Home

A man remains in police custody as a murder investigation continues following the suspicious death of a woman at a home in North End, Portsmouth.

Police were called by paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service at around 7.40pm on Monday, May 25, after a woman’s body was discovered at a property in Hartley Road.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed the death is being treated as suspicious while officers work to establish the full circumstances.

A 60-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody while enquiries continue.

A cordon has remained in place at the address, with officers carrying out enquiries in the area.

Residents may continue to see an increased police presence while the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to a uniformed officer at the scene.
