Drink-Driver Banned From Roads After Crashing Into Hedge In Fleet
A drink-driver has been banned from the roads for 20 months after crashing his car into a hedge in Fleet.
Jasper Flower, 26, of Marrow Meade, Fleet, was driving a Nissan Micra when it crashed into a hedge on Ancells Road on Thursday, February 12.
He was later taken into custody, where he completed an intoximeter procedure and provided a reading of 63mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath — above the legal limit.
Flower was charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above the prescribed limit.
He pleaded guilty and appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 12, where he was handed a 20-month driving ban and fined £475.
PC Neve Fitzgerald, from Fleet NPT, said: “
We want to be clear – there is absolutely no excuse for getting behind the wheel of any vehicle when you are impaired from drinking alcohol.
“Drink-driving can kill and seriously injure people, and the decision can be life-changing for you and the people around you.
Please make responsible decisions and do not get behind the wheel if you’re not fit to drive.”
