Driver Arrested After Police Dog Finds Suspected Cocaine During Early-Morning Stop
A 39-year-old man from Doncaster has been arrested after officers discovered multiple bags of suspected cocaine during a proactive stop in Hartley Wintney.
An officer from the Roads Policing Unit was on patrol on the A30 at around 4am on Tuesday 16 June when suspicious activity linked to a Vauxhall Astra was noticed.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver underwent a preliminary roadside drugs test, which indicated the presence of cocaine.
Specialist officers from the Dog Unit were then called to the scene. Police Dog Major carried out a search of the vehicle and located 18 snap bags containing suspected Class A drugs hidden inside.
The suspected drugs were seized and the driver was arrested.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of:
• Possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug
• Driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the legal limit
He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
