Firefighters were called to Brownhill Road, Chandlers Ford, shortly after 3pm today (16 July) following a fire involving the roof and first floor of a detached house
Around forty firefighters and eight appliances were on scene, crews used breathing apparatus, high pressure jets and an aerial ladder platform to tackle the fire.
The occupants had self-evacuated but the whole house was affected by fire and water damage.
A stop message was received just after 6.20pm and firefighters carried out community safety advice at neighbouring properties before the incident was scaled down.
A reinspection is set to take place later tonight.
The cause of the fire is unknown and a full fire investigation is now underway.
