Officers in Southampton have arrested a man on suspicion of theft from motor vehicle.
Police were called at 1.08am, Wednesday, 8 September, to a report that a man had been trying car door handles in the Mead Crescent area of Southampton.
Officers attended and carried out a search of the area and located a man acting suspiciously in Manor Farm Road.
They subsequently carried out a search of the man and found a large amount of coins, sunglasses, airpods and a torch in his possession.
Officers also located a vehicle on Manor Farm Road that was insecure and had been searched, but nothing was taken.
A 48-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.
He remains in custody at this time.
