Police who conducted a proactive stop search of a suspicious vehicle in Hedge End have arrested a man in connection with drug supply offences.
At around 11.30pm on Saturday 13 November, officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the car park of Sainsbury’s in Hedge End.
The driver, a 27-year-old man from Shropshire, failed a drugs wipe for a Class B drug and was arrested on suspicion for driving under the influence of drugs.
A search of the vehicle by officers located a quantity of Class A drugs – which were seized along with a mobile phone.
He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, theft of a motor vehicle and driving without insurance.
He was later released under investigation, pending further police enquiries.
