Police are now in a position to confirm the name of the man who died following a collision near Newport last month
Alistair Carter, 61, of High Street, Ventnor, died in hospital after the collision, which happened on February 24.
His next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers.
Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a white Range Rover and a pedestrian at around 10.45pm.
Mr Carter was the pedestrian and sadly died of his injuries.
Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
