A man from Southampton has been arrested following a stabbing in London Road yesterday (6 July)
At 5.55pm, we were called to Parsonage Road following a report of concern for the welfare of a man at an address there.
Police attended to ensure the safety of the man and the members of the public nearby.
At 10.30pm, the man, aged 31 from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
This was in connection with an incident in London Road that morning.
Police were called at 9.55am yesterday to a report that a man had been stabbed.
The man, in his 30s, sustained puncture wounds and was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains there at this time.
After a standoff on rhe roof of the property the man was arrested and remains in police custody at this time whilst enquiries continue.
